Detailed Results
This section contains the full set of results from my survey, with comments from me on what I think the results show.
The information is all from the web survey, therefore relates to the 520+ people who filled in the survey - my thanks goes out to all of them. This is very much a patients eye view and though all the medical profession hasn't sanctioned this work, as I don't wear a white cost or have the right letters after my name, or the results can't be validated. In my view it is just as accurate as them standing there and asking their questions with a pad and paper.
The one skew I am aware of is that the people filling in this survey will tend to still have the condition as those who are back to normal will be getting on with their lives and less likely be looking for this sort of information, thus finding this survey. I believe this does apply especially to GBS. The results are still valid and, I hope, interesting.
If their is enough interest I will re-open the survey, however as I paid for the survey to run, so that the results belonged to me and not the survey company. Please let me know by sending me an email from the link at the top of the page. Also any comments/suggestions are welcome.
All the data is gathered from the survey and I have put into graphical form using Excel, not all people completed the survey (around 82% did and I put a minimum number of questions answered in for the results to be valid). I have concentrated on differences between GBS & CIDP plus Male & Female, plus parts of the world (though I could only split this into three: US, UK & Rest - ROW, due to numbers) if there other slices people are interested in please contact me.
The graph in the header above shows the different level of feeling within the parts of the body. with lower numbers having less feeling than higher ones.
